Another One for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I had to make another poinsettia card for The Flower Challenge since they are looking for Christmas Florals. I am so sad  this is the last challenge for The Flower Challenge.  I have always been inspired by the DT cards and many players and also enjoyed joining in.

This card is for a special couple at church.  I embossed a panel of Evening Evergreen with Spellbinders Scenic Poinsettia EF and tried to splatter it with gold paint but didn't do too good, so I took the end of a toothpick dipped in the gold paint and put the dots where I wanted them - worked out great, in my opinion. :)  I cut the small die from SU Poinsettia Petals (ret.) using SU Cherry Cobbler, shaped the petals and glued them together, then added a gold foil die cut center.  The gold foil sprigs are from the same die set, but the pine branches are from a Spellbinders set.  The sentiment panel is cut with a PTI Love to Layer: Soft Ridges die and stamped in Cherry Cobbler using an older Recollections stamp set.  I mounted the white panel with foam tape and added the poinsettia and foliage in the upper left corner.  This was added to a white card base and my card was done.

I will also link to Festive Friday Challenge - used red, white, green, and Christmas Sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Florals for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  Sadly, this is the last challenge for The Flower Challenge.  I have so enjoyed this challenge and will definitely miss it. They want us to Use Christmas Florals.  Of course, I thought of poinsettias as I have quite a few to choose from but settled on this oldie from Stampin Up - Poinsettia Petals.

I die cut the 3 layers of the poinsettia from white and shaped the petals with my fingers, glued the 3 layers together and added  the center cut from gold foil.   The leaves from the set was cut from some green from my stash and the sprigs from the gold foil.  I also cut the sentiment from my new Papertrey Ink Holiday Tag: Elegant Ornaments set from the gold foil (can't wait to play with the ornaments in this set).  I layered the gold sentiment on a white layer and then glued to a Real Red panel embossed with Altenew Moroccan Tile EF (also new).  I swiped white ink over the embossing before gluing the elements on.  I added this panel to a scalloped black mat cut with MFT Blueprints 20 die, and then glued to a white card base.  I am really loving this card and may make a couple more since I am not quite done with my Christmas cards this year.

Linking to Can You Handle the Pressure (did not use the twist)

I will also add this to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the EF and the sentiment die.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Christmas Card

Hello friends.  I have another Christmas card to share today. Several are going in the mail today and others will be hand delivered.

I  cut an ornament from white card stock using my Silhouette to use the negative for a stencil, but also wanted to use the cut out.  I glued strips of blue pattern paper (from an old 4x6 paper pad) on the ornament, cutting off the overhang, and then had to decide how to use it.  I embossed a white panel with Spellbinders Christmas Tile 3D EF and mounted it to a panel of SU Soft Sky (ret.), as it matched the pattern paper.  I cut the joy from gold foil using a die from an older Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Die set.  The ornament topper was cut using a Spellbinders die.  I cut a narrow strip of gold for the hanger.  I added 2 plain layers to the back of the ornament and mounted it to the embossed panel.  The sentiment is from MFT Filled With Joy Stamp & Die set, stamped on Soft Sky in Basic Gray ink, and mounted with foam tape.  All this was mounted to a white card base and I really like the finished card.

I will send this to Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge where they are celebrating their 100th challenge.
Congratulations to Diane & Darlene and the design team.

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today.

I used some new items for my card.  The plaid paper is by Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) and the white shape is cut with Papertrey Ink Love to Layer: Soft Ridges die and the sentiment is also by PTI Reflections: October.  The poinsettia and foliage is from Scrapbook.Com Christmas Joy die set.  I really like the finished card and will be making more.

I am linking to Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge (did not use their Mood Board)
A Big Congrats to Peace on Earth challenge as this is their 100th challenge.

and also Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used all these items.

Merry Christmas Ornament

Hello friends.  I have a Christmas card to share that I made using the technique at Group of  Cardmakers.  The technique is textured tissue paper with dry embossing.

I followed the video link on their web site and used tissue paper and SU Real Red & Shaded Spruce inks to make my panel.  After the tissue paper was dry, I mounted it to a panel of white and embossed it with Spellbinders Scenic Poinsettia 3D EF. I very lightly brayered gold ink over the panel and then touched up a few spots with the ink and a small paint brush.  I then had to decide how to use the panel and thought of several ways but decided to die cut a Hero Arts Infinity Bulb Ornament from a white panel, embossed it with Spellbinders Evergreen EF and glued my tissue panel behind it.  I die cut the ornament top from gold foil and glued it in the cut out.  I stamped the sentiment from an older SU set in Real Red ink, fussy cut it and glued it around the top of the ornament.  I added a thin gold foil mat and then glued it all to a white card base.  I really like the finished card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Thank You for The Flower Challenge

Hello friends.  I finally got a card done for The Flower Challenge - Thanks.

ETA: My card was an Honorable Mention at The Flower Challenge.

The photo doesn't really do it justice, but it looks good IRL.  I used a couple of new items for my card: Gina K. Designs Ruffled Blooms stencil & embossing folder for the lovely flowers and a die set from Amazon for the Pale Papaya & Pumpkin Pie panels.  I stamped the lighter panel with a sentiment from SU Go To Greetings (ret.) in Soft Suede ink.  The blooms are embossed and stenciled with SU Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze inks.  I die cut them with a die included with the embossing folder and then embossed then again for more detail.  The leaves are cut with a Memory Box die.  I embossed a panel of SU Basic Beige, glued to a white card base and then mounted the die cut panels with foam tape.  I glued the blooms on and glued the leaves under the petals.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using this EF & dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Silver and Teal Christmas

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card that I made for several challenges.

ETA:  My card was one of the top 3 at CYHTP.

and also  was a Runner Up at Color Hues.

I used a new to me die from Spellbinders - Simon Hurley Vintage Layered Ornaments.  I die cut the plain ornament once from white, and the detailed ornament once with silver glitter, and once with SSS Audrey Blue.  I shaded the edges of the blue ornament with Bermuda Bay ink, glued to the white base ornament and then filled all the openings with the pieces from the silver glitter ornament (a little tedious but it looks great).  The ornament toppers and hanging strings are also cut from silver glitter.  I mounted the ornaments with foam tape to a white panel embossed with Spellbinders Scattered Christmas EF.  The pine branches are cut twice from white using an older Diemond Die.  The sentiment from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink, cut with the matching die, and then mounted with foam tape.  I added a thin Bermuda Bay mat and then glued to the white card base.  I also added a clear rhinestone gem to the center of each ornament.

I will add this to Color Hues Challenge -  Teal and Silver

and to Just Us Girls Challenge Word Week - Winter.
and Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge (did not use the optional theme)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Two Christmas Cards

Hello friends.  I have a couple of Christmas cards to share today.  I used Alex Syberia Festive Poinsettia stamp, dies and stencils for my cards.  It is a big stamp but I love the way it turns out.  Both cards are inspired by cards on Pinterest with some changes.

After stamping the poinsettia, I used the stencils with DOI Mowed Lawn (leaves) and Broken China & Salty Ocean (poinsettia), leaving the tips of the petals white and making the center darker.  I used a yellow marker to color the center.  I die cut the poinsettia and mounted it with foam tape on a SU Pacific Point panel embossed with Spellbinders Holly & Foliage EF, and then to the white card base.  I embossed the sentiment from an older Recollections Christmas set on black with white and then fussy cut it and mounted with foam tape.  I really love it in the blues.

This one is for a good friend whose favorite color is yellow so I thought I would make a yellow poinsettia.  I used DOI Rustic Wilderness (leaves & center) and SU Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks for the poinsettia.  I used the same sentiment embossed in gold on black.  The background panel is SU Basic Beige embossed with Spellbinders Scattered Christmas EF.  I added some gold pearls also.

I will link these to Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge as this is their 100th challenge. Congrats to them.  I didn't use their mood board.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Use Christmas Supplies

Hello friends.  Welcome to our last Seize the Birthday Challenge for 2025.  Our team will be taking a break until next year.  Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.  For our last challenge Ashiwini would like us to use our Christmas supplies for our birthday cards. Of course it can always be an "Anything Goes" birthday project.

I used Waffle Flower Poinsettia Frame Die & Stencil set as I thought the poinsettias looked good to use for a birthday card.  I die cut some single flowers and also the frame die and used the stencil to blend the flowers with SU Flirty Flamingo and Regal Rose inks.  The leaves were blended with SU Just Jade ink.  I cut the frame section apart to use different parts.  I used the berries & leaves section and the smallest flower from the frame die.  I layered 3 flowers together and added a gold gem to the center, glued it in the top left corner of a white panel embossed with Taylored Expressions Weathered EF. I had stamped the greeting from an older SU set in Shaded Spruce ink before embossing it.  I then glued the leaves under the edges.   I used 2 flowers the same size to layer together for the bottom right corner, also adding a gold gem to the center, and gluing the leaves under the edges.  I placed this white panel on a Shaded Spruce panel cut with a SU Scalloped Contours die, then glued to the white card base.  I think it is a perfect card for someone with a December birthday.

Check out all the inspiration by the team and our party guests and join in this fun challenge.  Can't wait to see what you create with your Christmas supplies.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Stamping,
JoAnn

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  First I would like to say Happy Veteran's Day to all those who have served.

I have an anniversary card to share today.  I made this one using several Spellbinders dies - Hello You for the flowers; Starshine Background for the white panel cut with the Emerald Cut Labels and Tag die and I just got the corners off of a Boho Blue rectangle for the blue mat.
I used SU Boho Blue for the mat and the flowers. After cutting the flowers, I added some white ink to the centers and edges of the petals.  I put 3 layers on each of the larger flowers and 2 layers on the bud. I added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) to the centers of the larger flowers.  The leaves and stem were cut from a lighter green and then blended with DOI Rustic Wilderness.  The sentiment is from Sweet 'N Sassy Anniversary Innies and mounted with foam tape.

I will link this to Triple B Challenge - Birds, Blooms & Butterflies

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas

Hello friends.  I have a new Christmas card to share today.  I have been working on Christmas cards and was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest and also the green & white from the Mood Board at Peace On Earth Christmas Challenge.

All supplies are retired SU products but I still have them and wanted to use them.  I changed the colors and the sentiment panel from the original card.  The poinsettia and foliage is from SU Poinsettia Petals die set.  I cut 2 medium layers and one small layer, shaped the petals and glued them together.  I added a center cut from gold foil, as is the berry sprig.  The leaves are cut from Mossy Meadow.  The glitter gold is from Be Dazzling 6x6 pack.  The pattern paper is from Whimsy & Wonder 12x12 pack.  The sentiment from Peaceful Plaid is stamped in Mossy Meadow and die cut with a die from Timeless Arrangements dies, and mounted with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.  This one is for a young girl at church who is turning 8.

The white panel is cut with MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle.  The balloons are also from an MFT set stamped in SU Summer Splash, Pretty in Pink, and Bumblebee inks.  I wrote the #8 on 2 of the balloons and added the green dots on the pink balloon.  The cupcake and sentiment are from an older Verve set.  I colored the cupcake with SU Pretty in Pink and Summer Splash Blends and fussy cut it.  I mounted the cupcake and the balloons with foam tape.  The pattern paper is an old one from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.
